I’ve been playing with clay and video editting for well over a decade now. I made these videos back in 2010 so the quality isn’t great. I’ve definitely made improvements to my skillset since these videos. But I’m still weirdly proud of these little claymations because they’re a nice reminder to me and hopefully to others that everyone needs to start somewhere when learning a new skill.
Starting a new thing can sometimes be so intimidating because it might not look very profesional and polished when you first attempt something new, and that can be scary and frustrating and make you feel like a failure, and that’s okay! The act of trying and learning new skills will always be more important than trying to get something looking perfect on the first try. Plus you kinda have to be bad at something before you get good at it!
Also, that saying of practice makes perfect? I disagree with that saying completely. Perfect doesn’t even exist homie!!
Practice makes improvements! :D Keep going and do what you love! You’ll make improvements eventually! And that’s exactly why I choose to keep these old crappy clay mations on my portfolio as a reminder to myself more than anything that you gotta suck at something before you can get sorta good at something! <3
